WE ARE CHANGING THE SPORT DIGEST’S STRUCTURE TO GIVE ALUMNI, STUDENTS AND FACULTY AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISSEMINATE, DISCUSS AND RESPOND TO CURRENT ISSUES IN SPORT.
The present edition of the US Sports Academy’s Sport Digest continues our quest for excellence by providing practical knowledge of the highest degree to sports people worldwide. In the near future The Sport Digest will include a wide variety of sections that will inspire ALL to research, write and share quality Sports Science Information.
Beginning with the April 2009 issue, The Sport Digest will have a new format facilitating student and faculty publication with an emphasis on the application of the latest research findings. New features will include a Scholarly Reviews of a current topic in sports, Journal Club, and Book Reviews.
Exemplary Student papers will be forwarded by faculty to the editorial board of the digest for possible inclusion as a Scholarly Review (2,500 – 5,000 words). For the Journal Club, USSA Faculty will select specific journal articles from each of the major disciplines at the Academy. For each upcoming issue Students and Alumni will be encouraged to write short (500 – 1,500 word) reviews of current research articles with a focus on how the latest findings in the sport sciences can be applied to daily operations in sports management, coaching, sports medicine, and fitness.
Details of submission guidelines will appear On the Sport Digest website. Questions or comments regarding the new format can be directed to either of the Co-editors Dr. Enrico Esposito (esposito@ussa.edu) of Dr. Roch King (rking@ussa.edu).
