The Personal Trainer

The topics of fitness, health and the quality of life are prevalently talked about and advertised within the various media arenas today. Staying healthy by eating right and engaging in daily exercise is the current craze.

A key to securing a healthier lifestyle and staying fit and healthy is thru education—- the education that comes from sound advice on nutrition and training that is backed-up by science. Sometimes it is necessary to seek professional help to acquire this knowledge and hire a personal trainer.

The personal trainer’s job is to assist those seeking to develop a healthier lifestyle and utilize their own unique anatomical structure and physiology to attain optimal health and fitness. A personal trainer should discuss ways that a client can maintain optimum fitness and relate it to their individual health. For example increasing physical activity promotes a healthier heart rate, better cardiac output and blood flow; therefore increasing the efficiency of transporting vital nutrients and oxygen thru the body. When blood is not circulated throughout the body effectively – stagnation may accumulate and ailments could result.

The personal trainer’s job is to assess the client’s age, weight, health, and physical ability, and prescribe the proper exercise and nutrition to acquire a healthier lifestyle. The body’s anatomical and physiological responses towards certain tests and assessments will help to direct the personal trainer to recommend a personalized training program for the client. In order for an individual to attain a healthy lifestyle they must work diligently with their personal trainer to set a training program that can be incorporated into their daily lifestyle. A personal trainer’s ultimate goal is to train and educate the client in the areas of health, fitness and nutrition.
